MEET YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Hey there, I am Hanna Buss and I am your photographer based in Provo Canyon, Wallsburg, in Central Utah.
Over the years my heart has grown fonder for several avenues of photography. I personally love variety in life and that plays into my business BIG time. I am a photographer of the people. More specifically- elopements, traditional, intimate and destination weddings. In between weddings I am also a couple and family photographer.
I am often in different parts of the West which makes it so easy for me to meet you anywhere. I am a devout visitor yearly to national parks! I have a goal to hit every US national park. There are 64 and my husband Hunter and I have 22 so far!
I was born and raised in Utah where I still reside today. Growing up I was a frequent visitor to the famous scenic outdoor playgrounds I call home. After traveling and seeing the whole west side of the US, I decided I could live in Utah for the rest of my life. This beautiful state has all I need. Adventure, snowy mountains, red sand desert, family, four seasons, and my favorite part- the most beautiful scenery. We have the mighty 5 national parks for a good reason. It is absolutely epic!
I am a nomad at heart and together with my husband Hunter, we explore the US in our travel trailer + good ol’ girl Betty the truck or by plane.
Photography has been an integral part of my life. It has helped preserve my family members lives that have passed and because of that I cherish my abilities to frame a moment. Looking back at my family scrapbooks, prints on the walls, and photos of me as a kid is surreal. It is absolutely a modern day blessing to have clear, true to life photos of our lives.
After being the sole photographer growing up and going onto photographing my friends weddings in 2015, I decided that this is what I wanted to take on as a career full time, in 2019.
My view on photography…
This is my husband Hunter and I! We were in Moab, having the time of our lives. I will always look back at this photo and remember how I felt—wanderlust and so in love. The smell of wet red clay beneath our feet, and afterwards, getting food at the hole-in-the-wall, lonely Mexican restaurant in town. It was the best day, from one of the most adventurous years we’ve had together.
I love being the artist who documents your core memories. I always ask my clients, “What is the one thing you want to remember from this time in your life?” For many, it’s inviting your closest loved ones to your elopement, the curly hair of your toddler, your newly adopted child, or wearing your great-grandma’s jewelry on your wedding day.
Knowing that I have your best interests in mind and that I want to portray these moments in a documentary style will help you understand how I work behind the camera. I want to allow moments to unfold naturally because your photos will be unlike anything you’ve seen before—captured from a perspective that is not your own. You’ll realize how quickly these moments happen, and it will all come into perspective in your final gallery. I hope you can trust the process; we’re going to make magic!
